The Origins of the Easter customs

In many Christian customs, the traditions of the giving of eggs during the Easter, celebrates new life. The Christians remembered that Jesus, right after dying on the cross, arise from the dead, illustrating that life can win over death. With the Christians, the eggs are the symbols of the tomb wherein the body of Jesus has been placed, while fracturing the egg denotes Jesus' resurrection. With the Orthodox tradition, the eggs are being painted with red to denote the blood of Jesus being shed on a cross.

In spite of the prehistoric origins of the sign of the egg, lots of people agreed that nothing denotes renewal more perfectly compared to the egg – endless, full of the promise of life and round.

While lots of the pagan traditions are connected with the commemoration of Spring were in one stage practices alongside the Christian Easter customs, they finally attain to be absorbed into Christianity, as the symbols of the rebirth of Jesus.  The Primary Council of Nicaea has been founded the date of the Easter as the initial Sunday right after a full moon or the Paschal Round Full Moon subsequent with the March equinox.

Though it has been observed as the religious holiday celebrating resurrection of Jesus, or the time for families at the Northern Hemisphere in taking pleasure of the arrival of Spring and commemorating with egg decorations and the Easter bunnies, the festivity of Easter still retained at similar spirit of renewal and rebirth, as it had been for many or thousands of years.
